There’s something truly special about documenting family life right where it happens—at home, surrounded by love, laughter, and the little traditions that make your story unique. I recently had the joy of spending time with a wonderful family for a combined photo and film session in their cozy home, and it was everything I love about this work.
This family has two absolutely adorable daughters whose energy and curiosity filled the room. Adding even more warmth to the day were the dad’s parents—two loving grandparents who brought generations of stories and love into the session. One of the highlights? The kids helped their abuela make empanadas in the kitchen, a moment full of giggles, flour-dusted hands, and pure joy.
Capturing these everyday moments—from the way the kids eagerly folded dough to the gentle, guiding hands of their grandmother—made for a beautiful film and photo collection that the family will cherish for years. It’s in these candid, unscripted slices of life that the heart of family shines brightest.
Shooting both photo and film allowed me to preserve not just images but the sounds, voices, and movements that make these memories come alive. The laughter, the little conversations, the quiet moments of connection—they all tell a richer story when you can both see and hear them.
In-home sessions like this one remind me why I love what I do. There’s nothing quite like the comfort of being in your own space, surrounded by the people you love, doing the things that make your family you.
If you’re interested in a family session that combines photography and film—whether it’s baking in the kitchen, playing in the backyard, or just hanging out together—I’d love to help you capture your unique story.
